AND TAX EXEMPT!!! IMAGINARY MEME COIN FAGS AND BANKERS BLOWN THE FUCK OUT!!!
HAPPENING: RON DESANTIS MAKES GOLD AND SILVER LEGAL TENDER
price, chart?
not women
WTF Florida
no sales tax is nice and all
only problem is there are going to be near zero businesses accepting silver/gold as payment
seems like something boomers dreamed up, there are plenty of them here in FL
top signal
How does this work though? If I bring a 1oz coin to a supermarket do they have to treat it as spot value or are there going to be tiny dollar denominations that cause no one to use it?
at this point id much rather take gold as payment than fiat paper.
you still need paper for change
BASED ron
physical gold
no thanks we only accept fiat and Bitcoin sir. the fees associated with its conversion to Bitcoin are a deal breaker, unless youre willing to absorb the loss and trade 15% under market value.
Have fun paying taxes on your invisible ponzi coin gains, which has zero intrinsic value btw.
subtile Hyperliquid ad
nothing changes. It's just for show.
the sorts of people that want gold and silver to be legal tender also never spend it.
I'd like to buy a cup of coffee please.
hello Mr. Goldberg, here is my mortgage payment this month.
checked and keked
good one!
SILVER ALL THE WAY to outsmart mr nosenberg
Pretty good point though. That's not silver and I doubt a business would need to accept it. That's some weird alloy that you think is silver.
They only do this because they know they can't enforce taxes on PMs. They might as well make Monero tax-free too. Better to pretend to be a "good guy" politician than pretend you can enforce taxes on something anonymous.
It's silver. Those coins are reichsmarks from Nazi Germany.
I should want to trade away my gold?
it's an alloy, not silver.
how much silver does a chunk of metal need to contain to be legal tender?
my guess is the law means pure silver.
Have fun paying taxes on your invisible ponzi coin gains
taxes? crypto? what are you talking about? my btc wallets dont exist. i have bitcoin. i dont have bitcoin.
Hyperliquid
idk much about altcoins whats this one's promise
.999 pure is the best you can buy for bullion, is this acceptable amount or is it not "pure" enough since it's still an alloy? My 1toz bullion coin has a face value of $1, is it worth that or the value of the silver in it?
.999 isn't an alloy
You can already trade your $1 coin at face value, so clearly the law doesn't mean that
merchants can decide for themselves if they will accept it as payment
wow it's fucking useless because no one is gonna take it.
the tax exemption would be tempting. Also the PR stunt of accepting it would get some new customers in.
the cost of verifying it and converting it to spend would be a pain though. Even if I accept gold and silver, that doesn't mean my employees and vendors necessarily do.
no i will not trade my charizard for 1oz of gold. no they will not reprint base set charizard. yes you can melt down gold. no you cannot melt down base set charizard. pokemon cards are superior gold. not bitcoin. bitcoin can be reverse hashed. sealed pokemon cards are a better investment than gold and perform better. you will be begging me to trade your gold bars for my 1 sword and shield booster box that cost $100 a year ago. why? because little jimmy want to pull the card he doesnt give a fuck if you give him the actual card itself and even after he pulls it he will never play with it
the next guy will just unsign.
Gold coins from the US mint are only 90% gold. Only the amount matters.
So I can pay with a 100kg coin that has 1oz of gold in it?
While we're talking about hypotheticals, what if I hunted you down and raped your ass?
seems pretty gay
I personally know on a first name basis the man who actually wrote the bill. He's the absolute caricature of the Zionist Protestant pastor. This is less surprising than you think.
90% is the legal standard. US gold and silver coins were 90%.
90% US coins sell for a significant premium above spot. Nobody is going to spend them.
even the modern bullion costs more than spot.
I love how midwit zoomers can't imagine gold in any other format than a giant industrial cartoon bar. Do you bring your Ledger to Starbucks too?
Bro I'm going to Tampa and paying for grog with a doubloon. Let the zoomers think what they want.
They had that shit figured out thousands of years ago. Gold was for large transactions, silver was for daily transactions.
No one is going to care about the inconvenience when the monetary system loses confidence. It resets to the last good state, like a corrupt operating system restoring itself. This happens every hundred years or so. Then once confidence is restored, you build the derivatives and credit system back up again and the convenience slowly comes back.
The dollar isnt worth the paper it's printed on and yet you want to hold more and use more vs sound money (precious metals)?
Good goy, let's keep the printers going. Who cares about the reeds on coins and why they are there.
Imagine giving up an ounce of silver for Fritos
But imagine retaining the option to if/when paper currency collapses.

What about redeemable digital gold? the value of your account is based off the active trading price of gold. You'd be able to spend on anything you want like normal, using a card. Instead of fiat/credit it's taking a proportional amount of gold out of your account
the law isn't going to matter when the dollar collapses. It's like keeping a pantry full of food for in case your house burns down.
paying for grog with a doubloon
Florida might just be getting unfathomably kino
Looks like I am looking for a place in Florida.

Looking at the map I found a local business that "accepts" it. It's an online store only, no physical address. Not sure what I expected with the memeback.
