on-chain oracles are preferable to off-chain oracles as they avoid the oracle problem altogether. However, if you use them you do need to keep in mind that they can be manipulated within the same block through MEV fuckery.

On-chain oracles don't provide full market coverage. They only provide pricing from a single chain/environment. They do not include volume or price information from other chains, centralized exchanges, etc.

That is correct, however the off-chain data must go through some trusted entity (even if the trust is distributed to some extent like with Chainlink) whereas the on-chain data can be fully trustless.
