1) Many job postings online are completely fabricated so companies can data mine applicants and falsify growth.
2) Salaries haven't kept pace with inflation in decades.
3) DEI policies actively discriminate against you if you are competent
4) Passive aggressive HR culture essentially creates a 'Mean Girls' environment.
5) Thanks to bureaucratic bloat, a lot of jobs are basically there to babysit adults, sinecures where nothing of value gets done.

As a millennial who struggled I don't see how zoomers have a chance. Basically you need a 3 bedroom house that costs over 300k to start to have a family when you should (at 25 years old). So you need to make over 100k a year starting salary plus the wife needs to work until she starts knocking out all the kids. This is basically impossible. Plus I assume they are going to want a car. A new one is 40k.

Youngest millennials are like 27 now. Sad to say, but it's been 6 years since covid 19 was first memed. Entire generation went from young adults to those guys about to become middle aged. We are a lost generation, unironically.

I'm 27, I plan on getting my own place in the next year or two. Only thing holding me back is the threat of student loan payments finally starting for me after 5 years of getting lucky there. Wanna hold off foir a year or two and pay all that off but a new two or three bedroom villa is like $2,000 with HOa included where I live for a first time homeowner.

Lot of gen Z articles feel like old articles about millennials rewritten.
But yes.. Early millennials got rugged on their careers after 2008. Job market didn't loosen up until like 2012, by then most gave up on their fields of study and worked the bare minimum in service industry etc. They were all poor together, so there wasn't as much social pressure to be doing well in the rat race.
Either way, once you NEET, it's like doing a drug. You always know it's there now. So if your job is dead end, you're weighing up whether or not you really need to be wasting your time at it.

Why bother? They watched my generation get fucked by college and are now stuck busting our asses to repay debts and despite what our paycheck is we are still paying for things we do not own but own us. Honestly, that’s the smartest move a zoomer can make is not to play.

16-24 unemployment percentage in the UK is 16%, but when I talk to people I don't know how that is possible. I'm mid 20's, all of my friends have jobs, everyone I interact with at the pub have jobs, every zoomer in my extended family has jobs. All my family friends have jobs.

What we are witnessing is not young white kids dropping off enmass, but the black and brown horde leeching off benefits. Which would explain why I don't notice this phenomenon in person. The white people who are NEETS are either young single mothers, disabled or autistic types found on Anon Babble. I'd wager the white youth unemployment rate to be more like 5-8%

Don't think I count as a zoomer but I went to college and yet all I was getting were terrible jobs. I gave up somewhere along the way. I don't want to go back to college only to find out I once again cannot get a well paying job. I know I'm disappointing my parent's but what other options do I have? Just work some low paying job, save up, and hope I can do something with the money, like making a business or stock trading?

It sounds more and more like THE COMPANY lost its way more than Grandpa and Dad being wrong. A good company supports its units, not treat them as disposables. It's ok though, as time progresses and they realize how much more value loyal individuals will be in an age of the normalize of disloyalty

It's counter intuitive to the white man brain trained at the DNA level to fear shame more than death (it's real dyor) but actually the right move at this point in history is to extract and exploit more from the system, not less. NEETing is one way of doing this.
