There will never be a market because the biggest problem with the concept of housing an artificial womb meant to carry a human fetus in a literal sex toy is not a technological or economic problem, but rather a legal problem.

To keep it short, if a company designs a sex bot that can get pregnant, suddenly that company is also now legally liable for any miscarriages that their robot has.

that said, having one giant hivemind doesn't make logistical sense. a brain, despite existing in the same skull, is distributed into many redundant parts. the feeling that consciousness is one composed orchestra with a single conductor is actually a trick, but a necessary one for sure since evolutionary necessary actions benefit from agency, volition, or a sense of self. for example: why would I do anything for future me if I didn't have this very convincing stream of consciousness constantly asserting that future me is definitely past me and that I didn't just wake up freshly spawned from nothing with pre-implanted memories. with consciousness I don't think planning ahead more than a few minutes is possible.
