Aight retards lets see if you can make it

you should be able to solve this

Shoot one of them and the rest will assume you have infinite ammo.

I'd call the police and they would put them all in prison

Tell them if I shoot myself hedge funds get taxed 1%.

you shoot yourself

I tell them they're gay if they escape.

Tell them that if none of them escape, all Israeli IPs will be banned

solve this

High risk bluff

hold the gun in the air and pretend it is a signal for my backup sniper bros to support me executing every escapist

I am not guarding you. The hundred of you are guardiang ME.

Shoot one, anal rape the rest. They will be too buckbroken to try resisting

Tell them to kill each other and the winner goes free, then shoot the winner.

"I'll kill the first one who tries to escape"
But that seems too simple
Also we don’t know if they’re able to escape all at the same time.

I simply open the front gate and show them I have one bullet for my gun and can only shoot one of them, therefore the first person to attempt to leave will be shot dead and the others will be all free to go.

Since going first is certainty of death, none of them will attempt to escape

is it common for the fields to have front gates?

"I will kill the first one that tries to escape"
"Also, if several people try to escape at the same time, I will shoot the brownest one"

There are two solutions that I can see.

1.
Tell them that the last man standing goes free.
Then you shoot the last guy.

2.
Tell them you will kill the first person that tries to escape.
The first person won't try, because he know he will be shot. The second person won't try, because he knows the first person won't try, which makes him the new first person. So on and so forth.

I wouldn't stop them, I would listen to what they had to say, because thats what nobody did.

fpbp

Threaten the first one that moves will be shot, lead them into a barn.
They will all try to escape but they can't escape because the first one that tries will die, and none of them will take that risk.

2. Is the best solution IMO because then you save 5 cents on a new bullet too. Real shareholder value created there.

2. is flawed because it ignores the ingenuity of the prisoners to jus throw the most beta member amongst them into the freezone first

Look the BlackRock employee asking the question dead in the eye and say:

I'd take the gun to Larry Fink's house and shoot him in the head

IN REAL LIFE!!!!!!!

bury them all up to their necks

All of the murderers would just rush you and beat you to death before you had a chance to shoot them all

First person to move a single muscle or say a word gets shot

In an IRL setting it’s impossible though.

make them certain of death, duh

the answer is in the question, this is a math job not a prison guard job just give the state

The one who throws the guy is trying to escape, not the one who gets thrown. Besides, you can just change who gets shot to any other random characteristic. The tallest one that tries to escape, or something.

Tell them to fight each other to the death and the winner can go free. Shoot the winner.
Blackrock wants to hire psychopaths, not autists who think they've figured out le perfect plan to follow the game.

Find the strongest murderer and say you'll shoot him unless he joins your gang. Then have the strongest murderer recruit the second strongest murderer and so on.

i drop the useless prop and unsheathe my katana instead

tell one of them to look out for another and if the person he's guarding escapes he will die instead and so on and so forth so they will all be looking for each other preventing escape and preventing their own death

what is proof by induction

look up the green-eye paradox

If I were in charge of guarding 100 murderers in a field alone I would have made sure to make arrangements beforehand to have sufficient force and persuasion to be reasonably guaranteed of my success, this scenario is inherently flawed as it assumes I am incompetent and can't plan ahead when in actuality I would never let myself be found in so ridiculous a scenario

This question seems like the original fortnight premise. Are there other questions in this as it seems this is the only one proposed and reposted often

Both of your solutions are broken by the fact that the prisoners will attempt to escape everyone at once.

If they all act as one, there will be no singling out who's "first". Your choice of who to shoot will essentially be random to them, and thus they would have a random non-zero chance of escaping, so they'd go for it.

They'd do this in your first solution too, because a 99% chance of survival (everyone but one escapes) is better than a 1% chance of survival (everyone but one dies).

Poor quantitative analysis to have a gun with one bullet.

So you make up a story about how you are the messenger, they're all being heavily watched with satellite, and anyone who goes beyond an arbitrary border will be shot by other imaginary guards. And if any harm comes to you then they all die.

They'd figure it is a non-zero chance of you lying regardless of what you say to them.

You can make them happy and provide everything they need.

read all responses, nobody has gotten it

i dont have the answer either, but all 100 people need to be 100% certain they will die

a field means theres no gates trees or barns, so we have to assume its essentially an infinite flat plain with nothing of value. bluffs like "snipers will shoot you" or "satellites are watching" will not work, as someone will inevitably call the bluff

if you tell 100 people to fight to the death for freedom, many would just immediately run

it seems unsolvable and so maybe they're looking for an answer like this?

Fair enough
Povide every scenario
Then we can provide answer

You randomly shoot one prisoner for no reason at all

They act like cornered animals and fight like a pack

You die, or worse, get raped violently by niggers because lets be honest we're talking about prisoners and niggers are 80% of the prison population

I don't have to do anything because death is certain for everyone, hence none of them will try to escape.
There is no timeframe stipulated for when they have to die.

It's a logic problem retard. You are supposed to assume they are rational actors.
Of course this shit wouldn't work in real life. If you are going to be overly pedantic, having a gun with a bullet doesn't mean that you can even kill a prisoner. There is a nonzero change of the gun jamming, missing, or that the prisoner just fucking tanks the bullet.
It doesn't say if the gun even works, or if the bullet is the right caliber for the gun. Or you could say it's a really fucking big gun and it can kill every prisoner at once with a single shot.

If they all act as one,

They wouldn't, because every single one of them is incentivized to betray the others.

there will be no singling out who's "first".

Then pick literally any other metric. Number them 1-100 and shoot the lowest number that tries to escape. Shoot the shortest one. Or the tallest one. Or the rightmost one. Or the leftmost one. Not that there is any such thing as absolute time.
