Everything I own and consume is made in America except my smartphone and a couple of sweaters I rarely wear.
Everything I own and consume is made in America except my smartphone and a couple of sweaters I rarely wear
Cool story.
Same.
I have a TV (unfortunately) that's a Samsung that was a gift but I honestly can't think of anything else in my house that isn't American. Maytag appliances. Trane HVAC. All the food I buy is local/regional.
Are you sure? Look at your "American-made" car and see how many parts and components are made overseas. Also check out your electronics, guarantee they're almost all made overseas.
What an inconceivably boring life.
I-I'm exciting I b-bought a cup from Bangladesh
What a thrilling joyride of a life.
take apart your maytag appliances, trane hvac, etc. and you'll probably see that its components aren't made in america.
85% of my possessions by weight are physical books and most of the rest is computer equipment.
99% of my spending is on goods and services made in america and provided by Americans.
Tariffs mean nothing to me. The stock market crashing is a good thing because I'm a value investor and thrive off picking up cheapies.
Is that some American made Disney homosloppa and a Netflix tranny show? Sign me up!
Maytag is only assembled in the United States, most of the core components are made elsewhere.
Also, pretty sure the Anon Babble servers were Made in China.
Well Anon Babble runs on a stack of 4 mac minis, duh they were made elsewhere
except my smartphone
Maytag
Trane
Americattle about to discover what supply chains are
Cool. I live in Europe. EVERYTHING but cars is made in China. Half our food is Chinese poison. And clothing, that's Myanmar and Vietnam.
Thank you politicians, I voted against you.
Holy shit a sane European in the wild
Half our food is Chinese poison
One of the only things I like about Yurop is how strict they are with food regulation. What Chinese poison foods are allowed?
60137411
Its very obvious that the jidf is scared of Americans producing their own stuff.
I lived there for like two years and I'm not sure what he's talking about, and I was shopping in all the discounted stores. Europe is SUPER protectionist about food. Everything is made and traded within the EU, foodwise, as far as I could tell. Even the super processed stuff.
It was more all the home goods stuff and appliances and everything else that was universally chinese imports or super high end super expensive German or Swiss manufacturing.
It's hard to slip fun little surprises into end users' products when the supply chain is domestic u_u
Hahaha the cope on biz is palpable.
t-tariffs w-won't affect m-me
Pathetic
You must be retarded thinking anyone but other burgers will buy this
Japanese website.
Based rememberer
They won't, because we will simply all buy american.
Read the fine print
Made in USA*
* with globally sourced materials
Ahh yes, America, the United States of America, the continent spanning third largest country in the world, famously lacking in raw materials.
Can't wait to see what GPU prices will be, thanks niggers.
MIGA has deployed Reddit-tier copeposting to gaslight people.
This is Anon Babble, I do expect you faggots posting to at least understand what a "supply chain" is.
You get all your steel from abroad and 30% of your oil from other countries. Every single electronic thing you own was made in Asia too you lying retard.
Supply chains will move to america to avoid the tariffs. Try to keep up anon.
You should update your stats anon, and we have plenty of resources, we just will use them. Sorry not sorry this is going to crater your economy.
Everything I own and consume COULD BE made in America except my smartphone and a couple of sweaters I rarely wear, once we decide to do that (it's already happened, we decided to)
silly OP
Supply chains will move to america to avoid the tariffs. Try to keep up anon.
Yes, that is sure what the MIGA camp is saying isn't it? You think that's actually true Anon? You think all the imported electronic, automotive, petroleum etc. products the US supply chain relies on can and will all be onshored and then everything will work out?
Why on gods earth would anyone upheave their entire supply chain to a country deploying extremely schizophrenic financial policies (and then reversing those policies haphazardly) instead of waiting out to see how long the tariffs last. They can redirect those supply chains elsewhere, "assembling" in America doesn't mean much
Yes.
Because we're crashing this global economy with no survivors. And they expect one of us in the wreckage, brother.
Supply chains will move to america to avoid the tariffs. Try to keep up anon.
That's retarded. The whole point of the supply chain is that you outsource or subcontract all the cheap unskilled labor and manufacturing, so you can focus your own skilled labor pool on more productive tasks.
Think about how extremely wealthy people pay Mexicans to cook their food, do grocery shopping, mow their lawns, and clean their houses. Yes they could do all that themselves, but it would cost them too much time and lost opportunities.
Same thing applies to manufacturing and supply chains. Our economy outsources the production of Raw materials and textiles because the work is too time consuming and low paying for Americans to do it. We'd have to improve conditions and pay for those things to be viable in America which would significantly increase the cost just based on the raw materials alone. This problem is only further exacerbated down the supply chain as each company in the process needs to make a profit until the finished product hits the consumer at an exponentially more expensive rate.
It really is insane how all these people came crawling out of the woodwork since April 2. They weren't here on April 1
so you can focus your own skilled labor pool on more productive tasks.
Bro that's what we're talking about: we're out of jobs for those people. They're underemployed and unemployed. See pic related. We need the jobs back here.
It's nuts how much spamming and shilling there's been. Like somehow the tariffs will be undone if an anime website stops supporting the current administration.
Oops meant this pic. 62% Labor Force Participation Rate. It's outrageously low.
Bro that's what we're talking about: we're out of jobs for those people. They're underemployed and unemployed. See pic related. We need the jobs back here.
Okay, so are you willing to pay about 50% more for literally everything you buy so that these people can have jobs, knowing that your own salary will only increase 3% to 5% annually?
Yes I am. I know you won't believe me, and we both know the price increase wouldn't be that drastic, but yeah I'm willing to pay more to buy American and create jobs for Americans.
The problem is, and has been, that not all Americans are willing to do that. So now the government is forcing them to do so, by taxing importers and foreign producers. I think that's a great thing.
i have an acura that i bought for 3k dollars and so far have spent only another 3k dollars on repairs after owning it for 5 years. you faggots who buy new shit need to stop CONSOOOMING and start making shit to be consoomed. you either die a redditor or you live long enough to become a CHAD. Im making shit as we speak
Also Speed queen Chads report in. MADE IN AMERICA DOWN TO THE METAL
we both know the price increase wouldn't be that drastic
lol. People in third world countries are being paid $5/hr with no benefits, and you think this won't have a drastic impact on pricing? You can't pay people minimum wage to work in a factory, and minimum wage most states is already between $15-$20/hr. That's not even including benefits. That's a 3 times increase on the labor alone without even mentioning the cost/investment of actually building and moving the factories.
You're delusional if you think moving all manufacturing to the US won't be disruptive. As we consumers we are the only ones who will get caught holding the back because the companies will keep pushing the cost down the chain until it hits the end user.
It doesn't matter if you consume nothing. Your job and the economy around you is dependent on trade. Unless you're a hikkineet I guess.
manufacturing is done by machines. the jobs will be for making machines. not for 5$ an hour shit. we only did the 5$ an hour jobs because it would be 10% cheaper in the short run to outsource it than to automate it. ask GM and ask ford why they outsourced to mexico.
so you can focus your own skilled labor pool on more productive tasks.
Yes because I understand how changing the prices of various inputs affects marginal increases in price better than you do. Should have gotten a business degree anon.
You're delusional if you think moving all manufacturing to the US won't be disruptive
I never said it wouldn't be. It will definitely be disruptive. In the meantime imports will cost some percentage more, and importers will lose marketshare or profits to American producers while the federal government reduces the deficit at no extra cost to me personally, because I already consume little and what little I consume I buy american.
As we consumers we are the only ones who will get caught holding the back because the companies will keep pushing the cost down the chain until it hits the end user.
Again, go to business school, learn about market share, try to figure out why a company would want to keep prices low rather than just price gouge as much as possible.
You're a lier or naive
manufacturing is done by machines.
even highly automated stuff like car manufacturing still requires humans to bolt shit together.
DUDE ITS JUST BCUZ DA UNIONS IS PROTECTIN THEY JOBS
toyota plants are non-union and they also have a number of human employees working assembly.
???? tesla litteraly has like 5 guys working in one assembly line to make a whole car. same for companies like BYD.
are u american doe
are you an actual retard?
youtu.be
they have 23k employees at their austin, tx plant.
DUDE THEY'RE ALL ENGINEERS EVERY ONE OF THEM
