The average wage across Europe is lower than the poorest US state. Workers also pay much more taxes. All these safety precautions made most of Europe economically stagnant. They are also really not sustainable, soon you will see them raising the retirement age again and again

In Europe, once you complained at a doctor having a recurring headache or back pain, or being in a bad mood sometimes, it's over, you can not get private health insurance anymore.
You still get communist coverage, but it's nearly 15000 Euros in Germany per year by now, if you make a wage that is enough to buy said 1BR apartment.

I got out and got international health insurance (250 a month right now, 400 if I'd live in Switzerland).
German private insurance would be 600 to 700 per month for me, middle aged man.
But private really is not bad, they now even pay to clear rheumatism from your immune system, if it's really severe.
