There's also been a hamburger craze the last 5 years or so with high quality burgers, with loads of new restaurants jumping on the trend. They'll cost a bit more, but with shitty fast food places McDonald's selling menus for 12-13$ why ever go there unless it's night, you're drunk and want some food.
Besides, practically every restaurant here have affordable lunch prices, so I can get regular food, buffets or whatever for 13-15$. Eat as much as I want, including drinks, coffee, salads and bread. It used to be cheaper before the covid inflation.

Basically because they're a publicly traded company run by MBAs, the mbas decided over the years the expenses would always be taken by customers and workers, in that order. Over time this lead to severely depressed wages (mcd's workers are not waiters and do not get tips to make up for it) that even spics would not do because indians and illegal spics could just glomp onto tech jobs or landscaping jobs and make way more. The end result is that wages had to rise to get the bare minimum of 'talent' (using this word lightly) to work for them. The MBAs then had the smart idea to pass the costs onto customers (a classic that never fails!) in order to keep dumb shit like this going because of the US precedent that "companies are beholden to shareholders, not workers or customers".
This created an endless moronic race to the bottom which has now killed the company. Boomers, who are the bulk of shareholders (and the non-retired ones are the bulk of mcdonalds corporate brass) will obviously lament the decline of an american icon while screaming their 40yo millennial kids are to blame for not having kids of their own and taking them to get happy meals, completely unable to ever assign blame to their own intense greed and inability to be good at anything since they are not capable of realizing they were carried purely by their daddy's money from WWII until now.
