The issue with b movies is they have few revenue streams. This doesnt fix any of that.
Movies are not just art, they’re also commodities. As such there is an almost endless supply and an unforgiving market for them. The tariff would target the money made from licensing/rights agreements, so if Netflix wants to have a Korean soap opera they’ll have to pay more to have it on their platform
The old model for B movie productions to make back their money was to sell rights internationally and then use that to leverage their movies for distribution in the states. With the rise of international productions and death of physical media, B movie studios began to die out or adapt because the market had no demand for them. This was made even worse with the pandemic because the theaters closed and to this day haven’t recovered. The tariffs would incentivize companies to buy the rights to American made movies because they’re cheaper than international ones

I realize you're just pulling those details out of your ass, but have you not very recently learned how this works? As many people in this thread have noted, American media is one of the few areas where we absolutely dominate the entire world.
The vast majority of high budget films rely on this to the extent that it's often impossible for an expensive film to make a profit purely on domestic sales. Without the international box office, these films are economically unviable. So when other countries respond with a 100% tariff on American media, what happens to the profitability oh Hollywood?
The rest of the world doesn't need their films to play in America. Most foreign films never see an American release. The American film industry, however, is entirely dependent on international markets. Even a 50% retaliatory tariff against Hollywood would quite literally be the death of the America film industry.
This is without getting into the fact that even something filmed in America will have CGI done by international teams. If we film in America but outsource our CGI to India, how much are we getting tariffed? No movie produced by Americans can be set in a foreign country anymore, or are we just going to have to film in Chicago while pretending it's Japan?
