How am I supposed to buy a house?
How am I supposed to buy a house?
Ha ha ha he vants to buy!
You vill own _______.
It's government policy that you can't.
People in 2025 buy apartments not houses. Because nobody knows how to maintain a house. You'll never own a house faggot.
Condos cost as much as small houses and the HOA fees are an additional $500-1000 per month.
Fed has been selling mortgage backed securities since 2022, how is that not bearish for houses?
can you please explain what this is to a retard like me
After 2008, the Federal Reserve started buying mortgage backed securities to float the market. They own 1/4 of the total MBS market value.
Why is housing so expensive outside america then?
It's just as expensive other places.
First you are now at 2008 right before the collapse so you should be saving up
Second your first house isn't going to be a median house it's going to be a cheap house. There are homes.. readily available in my area for 1/3 of the median sale price .. and then you get into condos as well are cheaper for the beginner
I really don't know. I think it's the fact that in every Western nation, the only wealth that the majority of people have is real estate. And in many Western countries real estate is a significant proportion of GDP. We're talking 10-20%.
The equilibrium point of supply and demand for real estate isn't being considered as the point where housing is affordable and/or everyone who wants housing can get it. Instead, the intention is to keep real estate values high for the very cynical reason that the aging voter base of homeowners will be satisfied. And also to make GDP look good.
If they started building mass amounts of affordable housing in Vancouver and Sydney and San Fransisco and London, there would be riots from the people who already own homes. In fact, in many places new construction is intentionally blocked to protect real estate prices first and foremost. The fact that home ownership is trending towards landlord and even corporations has no effect on home values, if anything it increases them, so the government and the incumbent home owners don't care.
You can buy a new apartment in SE Asia for $75k USD. Or an old one for 40k
I don't want to live in SE Asia
with a job. oops, you're out
How am I supposed to buy a house?
You aren't. Trump wants you to work in a sweatshop, eat goyslop and obey dear leader.
Have you tried not being poor?
You don’t. You buy land, then get a construction loan to build a house, then refinance with equity.
Why not?
Breakfast costs 50 cents here.
Also, you can bet on dog fights
I'm 22

How am I supposed to build a gaming PC in SE Asia?
and if the housing market crashes again?

they did a survey on what people think is the amount of money they need to live comfortably.
My family lives on less than 80k a year despite it not existing on this chart, maybe buying 3 cars and a house in new york is kinda dumb
I'm not worrying about my ass anymore since I'm a dad all I think is about how the fuck are my sons going to make it in this every single day most fucked up country??? will they have to buy tokens like $tired and trade them to make enough to live a decent life? or are they gonna be slave wagies? I'm really worried about it
it's not the rates
greedy fucking boomers used their life savings to buy up the housing market during 08, now they run it like a racket

Are you able to order parts from Amazon?
If it crashes you just live in it for a while.
I have a 270k downpayment saved up after living with my parents for 5 years. PITI will be about $1,400 on a $400k home in MN (I'm also thinking of putting 250k instead for a $1,500 PITI).
Some of the ones I've toured so far are real stinkers, but even the most stinky ones have 5 offers within 48 hours of opening. It's crazy. My agent says it will be less competitive at the end of June.

lol what is this shit
The “Me Generation” will die off within our lifetime
Absolutely wild how the postwar period that was the best time for America was also the time when congress was getting younger
By praying for deflation. There's occasionally a Deflation Appreciation General thread floating around this board. Try posting and asking there.
within our lifetime
Who cares we'll all be at least 50 by that time
You left out the part that there is no resale value in Asia with condos, and without a proper long term visa- which could add hundreds of thousands of dollars and/or years of time added on top of everything- you run the risk of being kicked out of the country/turned away at the airport for too many extended tourist stays. Not to mention taxes on foreign earned income back in the West.
t. looked into this years ago and came to the conclusion it is a massive scam and a gigantic waste of time/money
how do people "buy" a house, post photos on social media bragging about it, and then live know that they owe all that debt? like, over $100k.
You wait one year for the housing crash to be in full force
No, they only have dirty stores in the back alley selling those big desk top ibm computers with landline modems.
no resale value in Asia with condos
Which should be the norm, shelter shouldn't be seen as an investment.
Wait till you own property for 20-30 years and it remains flat while the oligarchs nickel and dime you with hoa fees while letting the area degrade to shit.
oligarchs nickel and dime
This happens regardless, I just disagree with the idea of making shelter as unaffordable as possible. If people want to invest in something, that is what the stock market is for.
I am 95% sure the reason for this problem is landlords. There is plenty of land even with all of the shitskins running around. Yet every property is bought up by some midwit who thinks himself a genius for leveraging his 5th house to buy and rent a 6th one. It's one thing if you have one or two, but nobody needs to own 3+ fucking houses
When will we get out 2008? I'm very much looking forward to seeing these boomer landlords wiped out and bankrupt
At this point I'm thinking we just buy now and refinance in like 5 years. I think that's the best we're going to get realistically.
The same way the most people in here bet all your money in some coin and wait until it pays enough to get in the next one, $talk, goglz hop from one to another into solana and try to make enough to get out of your parents house, buddy
whoever is paying your brown ass needs a refund
Get a fixed rate if you can.
