Import price inflation is getting thrown around a lot, but I think the sophistication that reporting misses the mark that broad based inflation (from devaluing currency) immediately affects price of goods and assets and bond yields. But inflation due to tariffs is purely on goods, with only knock-on minor benefits to certain sectors but unlikely or unable to really shore up domestic production and probably a drag on most assets and yields. Meanwhile, because it's not the kind of inflation that the fed can or really should be doing something about (it's not fear-based broad demand destruction, it's a real new economic equilibrium) I think we're going to see some moderate to high inflation expectations but fewer rate cuts than one would expect. Of course if it becomes systemic and a liquidity problem that's different.

a company wants to expand and do more things to make more money
so they create a pool of shares of value, some smart? people decide the shares value based on many factors like future earnings and open it to others to buy.
when interest increases because they believe they will be more valuable in the future people buy shares (usually banks and stuff) and then retail investors come in (usually) after.
now the company has a pool of assets to draw from that it got from the stock to buy equipment and materials, and this also makes it easier to get loans since you have collateral. The company can also bribe its board members and people running the company exclusive shares, and bonuses, which keeps them on their best behavior.
You are now held to the stock holders whims somewhat though, so you are in a cycle of needing to beat expecations as much as possible to keep it going.

Isn't selling ownership of the company for a one-time cash injection a massive imbalance? Why would any company ever do that unless they were facing bankruptcy?
Has a company ever managed to sell itself and then buy all the shares back? It must be very rare considering how many companies are listed for sale on the stock market.
Also every company is obsessed with increasing "shareholder value" by increasing the stock price, but this literally means it's even more difficult to ever regain ownership of itself.
When a company does this aren't they basically becoming a mini-bank, giving out a bunch of I.O.Us in exchange for cash? What if everyone all came at the same time and wanted to exchange all the shares for the cash? Do they even have it?

the thing is they are selling an idea, so it isn't really bankruptcy, but an idea given physical value that will result in money for everyone that wants to invest.
