Personally I don't see it as that much of a big deal, China already is at a veiled war with the US for what, 30 years? They routinely attack them economically and cybernetically, the drug epidemic on the US is arguably their doing, most of their international politics are so to attack the US directly or indirectly etc.

You're missing a large part of the point, Anon. People aren't going to go fight for China because they have a comfortable existence working back in the States, sitting on crypto gains and solid jobs. The jobs aren't coming back and the instability will help to 'encourage' people to sign with the Armed Forces, which will probably offer a much better deal than the private economy here. Our private sector has been pretty clear about the fact that they're hiring H1Bs as a stopgap while they set up full automation, they have no intention of paying Americans. So waiting for the 'market to stabilize' is only going to protect the profits of investors and capital gains, not people who work for a living or own industry.

There are plenty of alternatives to the Chinese, but as they say, needs must. People aren't going to migrate away from that market because its cheap and easy, unless they're forced to. This is the opening rounds of them being forced to.
