I want to quit my job

Redpill me on van life. What are the hidden costs? Is it a good way to travel? I'm in 6 figure hell and need a change.

cramped and smells.

the redpill is that everyone making it look good on youtube is a trust fund baby

I am used to that
I dont give a fuck where they got their money, do they enjoy it?

they enjoy it because when they run out of money they can just go home...what the fuck are YOU gonna do when your car gets totalled?

none of your concern you stupid faggot

Van life is not that cheap and it's totally uncomfortable and kind of dangerous, too

You are better off renting a studio somewhere that has a really low cost of living

Not cheap how? Repairs? Food etc? Camp ground costs? Dangerous because you're on the road driving a shitbox van? Robberies?
I am basically doing the second option now but cost of living could be cheaper.

is it a good way to travel

yes
but if youre going to live your life that way, itd probably be troublesome
if you were someplace warm and didnt move around much, it'd basically be free
but remember warm places have more shitskins and more active shitskins

if you have six figures and DIDNT have to pay for a house, im sure you could last a very long time with the van life, maybe the rest of your life
its no way to have a family though

The goal would be to kill time til my bags matured instead of continuing this wage slave life. I don't plan to live out of a car for the rest of my life.
Shitskins are only a worry in certain parts.

Enjoy losing your “home” when you get carjacked by niggers, you fucking retarded faggot.

Blackrock Solana Growth Fund (BLACKROCK)

passive income by holding

man i love reflection tokens like you wouldnt believe

LP tokens burnt so no rugging

1% token burn per txn to make it deflationary

16% tax on trades that gets rewarded to holders and stops paperhands from selling/swinging constantly

rewards are sent out as SOL every 5 minutes as long as theres enough trade volume to make it efficient for the cost of fees

then yeah, do it
if I were childless and had six figures and lots of money invested, sure

Hey, I'm so ready to pitch in! My name is Brian and I've been dreaming of the van life, let me know and we can discuss further. I'm particularly looking to van life with a female if possible. Thanks!

Call or text anytime 555-555-1234

You will just constantly be harassed by police for over night parking

you have to camp on BLM land or else find big stores that are open overnight

The risk of getting totalled is one of the hidden costs (someone or something will hit you) that you asked. Can't wait to see you out there in your little van.

Seems like too much hassle to be worth the time, but I have always earned at least $70k/yr and now make more like $250k

I second the person that said just get a cheap studio...

With the way American homeless and poor people behave now, I'd want more security than a van window between me and Randoms while sleeping

fair that is true but insurance should cover
I'm in Aus but abos worry me in some parts

kill time til my bags matured

Careful though, I did this and I have no idea when it is, if ever, going to happen.
I can survive for a long time and live in a highCOL euroshit city, but I was apex wagie and kinda torpedoed my premium 6 figure wagie career.
Think it through.

What makes you think you can afford to live in a van on your meager income? This isn't 1974

Other than food and the occasional laundromat and shower, what are his expenses if he's mostly staying in one place? Compared to living in a house or apartment its WAY cheaper.

You sound well jel. Still living with mom?

Yeh its a worry, I haven't made it yet obviously..

The big issue is finding a place to legally park. You can spend a lot of money on gas moving from spot to spot every night. It is a good way to travel. I'd recommend a large dog as a travel companion for safety. They'll bark if anyone strange approaches the van while you're sleeping. If you want to see the country then van life is cool but if you're just looking for a cheap place to live, try finding a few acres of cheap land in a rural area with no zoning laws (or relaxed zoning enforcement), and buy a decent sized RV with a shower, and park there.

Propane (for heat and hot water)
Eating out every day (if your vehicle doesn't have a stove)
Gas to get food every day, or run errands
Some way to get electricity to power devices, keep lights on in can

Mostly staying in one place ... There's a large encampment area in Arizona with 100k+ van dwellers (homeless). You can stay for free on bureau of land management land. But anywhere you park is private or government property, so that is the primary issue to be solved.

its ok if you like to poop ina woods and not showering.

Van life absolutely 100% is dependent on where you are. Northern France? Forget it. Migrants will literally rape you. America? No way. No matter how great living in a van there will be, you are still in America. I recommend the following countries

Spain (far away from the smelly people though)

Denmark

Maybe Czechia but don't quote me

What I'm saying is whatever you budgeted, think about health (you think you're young and invincible, you're not), unforeseen expenses (gas, admin shit), and how the system is geared towards wagies.

If you're in eurocuckistan you can't find new rentals because of how retarded the system is, I can show 3 mil in my bank account these retards would say BUT MUH INSURANCES rent has to be X% of your wage.
People and the system are really geared toward absolute golems.

america is the only place you'd want to live frog bro. You should know this no one is as friendly to camping and sleeping in cars to here. inb4 le herp what if you sleep in detroit derp and shieetttt

Screw that, Australia would be the best aestitic wise. Plus if hes american, his usd/aud dollar ratio would be amazing down there.

I do vanlife.

It's amazing. Wintertime I drive down to Spain and Portugal. In summertime I am in Scandinavia/eastern Europe...The vanlife scene is so nice, lots of cool people. Costs can add up if you travel a lot but if you have a little scooter with you then you can park off somewhere for a while and just use the scooter to get around. Electricity is free with solar. Can wash clothes in laundromats or in a river but you won't need it if you mostly just run around in swimshorts and sandals. Only cost is Diesel and a bit of propane for cooking. Better than going into debt for hundreds of thousands of dollars to live in a run down cuckshed in the city.

a coworker of mine got meme'd into it by his wife during the lockdown. he was still working remotely and was clearly miserable in all of the pictures she posted on instagram. I think she was also trying to monetize their life on youtube, but she had horrible instincts and never put out more than a few videos. having never lived in a van, I would guess the downsides are no plumbing and always being on the move.

Feel like you're better off just buying an RV.
Or just loading up an SUV with the gear you need and hitting the road.

Need a table?

Have a sturdy folded one in the back of your SUV.

Want to cook?

Have camp cooking gear in the back of your SUV.

Want to sit on something comfy?

Have a hammock and folding chairs in the back of your SUV.

Need a bathroom?

Find a gas station or a mcdonald's.

Need to shower?

Camp grounds with amenities or gym membership somewhere.

Trying to turn the inside of a van into a rustic living space is comically impractical. Sort of thing that would be trendy for a few years and ultimately cost tens of thousands of dollars.

no way to have a family though

Seems like the kind of thing where at first, girls would think it's cool.
But the longer you do it, the more weird grubby shit you have to do seems normal to you, but you start coming off like a bum / weirdo to everyone else.

It just doesn't make sense financially. it's expensive. Nowhere to park overnight thanks to degenerates ruining it for everyone. The life you're looking for is basically a trailer park. Either with a trailer or RV. Migrate between national parks with the weather.
