What's the worst job you've ever had?

What's the worst job you've ever had?

skill issue, he could have jumped in the last second to land on his feet.

any "job" where you are unemployed for too long and get sent out to work full 8 hour days to get "work rehabilitated" by the gov uenmployement agency to keep your unemployement bucks, or if you have run out, your welfare
and if it's an actual work place where they do stuff you are working like a full time slave labor for 1k/month, and your expenses increase since you leave the house daily but you don't get more money
yeah have to pick that

or use the pole as a slide before it falls

He was probably tied in to the falling pilliar

Being a lawyer

frzoen food factory romania , i cannot live here that much longer. i am in pain every day. 14 hours is the day, with not 1 day for a rest. help me. no one should live like i do here. i will not make it, slavery;. 1 bathroom break for the day

Probably McJobs. On my second day at Burger King, some woman had a breakdown in the kitchen. Worked at McDonald’s for two years as well. You’re busy the entire shift, you lean for a moment and you get scolded. They actually confront you for it.

You gotta pay your dues though, luckily it’s all behind me.

He could have also done a ground pound just before landing to negate fall damage

Putting up concertina wire. I still have scars from it and that was still from being as careful as I could be. Other people around you aren't as careful so you will always get cut.

Did he died?

My girlfriend is a summer associate at a big law firm and she’s already working on the weekends, checking her phone. I presume it gets worse.

he should have had a parachute

Once the summer associate role (where they put their best foot forward and give you all the most interesting work) ends, she will be mired in discovery hell for years to come. She will get fatter, unhealthier, and more depressed. Eventually if she has a sense of self preservation she will make a career shift either into her own business or government law or, even, become a stay at home mom. If she starts gunning for partner, I'd dump her.

Apparently they outsource discovery. But I don’t really doubt she’ll be working 60 hour weeks to meet billing requirements.

She’s already noticed that the fit women at work have odd habits. They’ll get a chicken sandwich, remove the bun and cheese, and then the breading on the chicken.

She eventually wants to be a prosecutor. We’ll see.

tech support in a call center. absolute hell

It's a tough job breaking into prosecution after being a civil litigator. I eventually made the switch after 6 years of civil litigation but it took three years of trying. Of course, I wanted to get into a specific county's office, but the prosecutors will have a hard time taking someone from civil due to not wanting to train them. My situation was unique (I wanted in to either my home county office where the DA was a friend or a rural county with lots of money and managed to get the latter because the rural office was desperate). Her mileage will vary.

I'd suggest gun for the prosecutor office NOW and save herself a lot of grief. It will still be a lot of work, but a lot less than civil law

Call center.

She says that the only way to break in to this field is to do big law first. It’s also difficult turning down the salary of an investment banker at the age of 25.

I worked at a hostel for a room
you worked 4 hrs from 8am to 12pm in exchange for a bed to sleep in.
I cleaned toilets and rooms
cleaned the shower rooms. picked up used condoms and scrubbed jizzism off the walls.
spray bed bug spray all over the place.
it was a horrible job to do hungover, which was everyday for me.
the worst part started after a few days of doing this work. the paying hostel guest see you cleaning toilets and taking out trash etc. Then the guest slowly stop talking to you and being friendly because they think you some poor loser who clean toilets. I ended up getting a different job across town with room and board. I only did that job to meet more people and make friends lmao, kinda backfired

good point, this is the way. actually survivable with moderate injuries when executed well enough.
nah he just kept clinging to it in shock.

False. The only guaranteed way to break in outside of prosecuting directly is to work for the public defender of a private defense firm. Otherwise, she'll do what I did - knock on doors and interview until finally someone relents.

For the record, I was in the top 10% of my class from a top 15 law school. It will be even harder for her unless she's in a fucking Ivy league. At which point she should do a Supreme or appellate court clerkship. Which would also be better than big law.

Big Law is a scam.

She’s at a T14 at a V10 firm. She’ll be successful no matter what, but she’s basically trying to kill herself with this and grades. I’m rethinking the prospect of marrying an eventual lawyer.

I’ll mention what you said and then she’ll argue with me and call you a retard. Oh well.

Night stocking at a big box grocery section. Being nocturnal was bad, but the fluorescent lights and coworkers all down bad, defeated by life, made it extra bad.

I wfh now and won't make it big, but grateful for what I got.

new dev job.
crammed us all in like sardines in an old office (like 1980s). Was promised we'd only be in here for like 2 weeks but stayed for 1 yr.
Given a desk that had crusty shit on it from the last guy.
Some jeets kept microwaving fish everyday.
There was a weekly potluck in the already digusting office with poor ventilation.
Got sick almost every few weeks. Eventually I got so sick I had to go to emergency.
As soon as my bonus hit after 1 year put in my 2 weeks immediately.
Covid hit 1 year later.

Overnight shelf stocker at a grocery store while I was in college.

First of all, having to be nocturnal and push through the night was bad enough but my boss was a total cunt who made it way worse. She was the type of person who got a retail job just out of high school and then stayed there for over a decade till she made manager and used her position to shit on high school/college students because it’s the only position of authority she was ever going to get in life.

So satisfying that my last week there, she was on vacation so I put all the items in the wrong spots in the back of the warehouse, stocked nothing on the shelves, and then ghosted the job and blocked her number lol. Must have taken her a month to fix what I messed up.

The best job I ever had was a forklift operator at Menards (hardware store). Really cool management, really cool coworkers (and cute Latina cashiers), and it’s just fun forklifing and throwing around heavy weight with a machine. Feels like a kid playing with Tonka truggs.

literally risking your life for your boss and his company

I detailed cars at the airport with somalian immigrants who called me and this other white guy white devils. They ate with their hands like animals and washed their feet in the toilet and smelled terrible.

absolutely not true

post timestamp of you in the Romanian factory right now or you're a shitty larp

Law students are insufferable and think they are hot shit. Once she gets going in big law, it will become her sole identity. Women lawyers are almost without exception bad marriage prospects. The law profession and the female mind are not compatible. She will wig out on you.

She can call me retard if she wants to cope but 15 years in to being a reasonably successful lawyer I can tell you she's going to get humbled really hard really fast. She knows nothing. Law school doesn't prepare you for the real law... not one bit.

Lol, it’s getting there. We’ll see how long I hang on. Thanks for the advice.

Law students are insufferable and think they are hot shit

Have you met med school students?

Slide down!

Being a retail wage. I worked in the back of a retail clothing store, putting clothes into categorized inventory. I had the job for about a month and always hated it, but one time my manager came out and said I was walking too slow when stocking the shelves and that annoyed me so much I just clocked out at the end of my shift and never returned or even called to say I quit.

She was absolute scum. I neeted for about 3 years after that because I assumed all work was equally soul crushing, but now I have a relatively comfy job with ok pay.

He’s fine though just a few scratches

working for some security surveillance company. The boss was a real shithead

RIP

Either of my two jobs probably. It’s easy I just wear a suit at this one and sit in a chair mostly. But it demoralizing getting screwed when you occasionally make a commission. I had one that should have been 1800 but I got 400 bucks last week for it. Always have to ask for my check. Even tried to pay me in literal sheckles once for a commission that was “forgotten” on my check. I’m American.

Every job I’ve had (two), I’ve seen people with everything around me while I make close to nothing in return.

It’s demoralizing kinda, but it could be worse. I could be putting fries in the bag.

But I didn’t go to college for almost 7 years for this.

I need a real job.

If he had done a roll to spread out the momentum he would probably have survived.

I thought Europe was first world or something.

SAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS-ACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

everyday is the worst day of my life

bet you walk faster now

IQ: Two Digits

I would have jumped to the other pole and then grinded down.

I only did that job to meet more people and make friends lmao, kinda backfired

This summarizes my entire time in the workforce, regardless of what job it was. You can bullshit and have fun with coworkers for years, but as soon as you quit the job you cease to exist to them. Everyone is just an acquaintance in the end.

live-in help were the AI tools of yesteryear

Big Law is a scam.

This, but the entire legal system itself.
