TCG General - Journey Together set OUT

day 192 of growing my charizard collection till it hits $1mil

Journey Together latest set is out, did you grab any recently?

anyone else collecting random cards not exactly mainstream like MTG or Pokemans? I have some random Star Trek ones

just pokemon, too niche to invest in others (Lorcana etc.) but for fun its fine

Lorcana

This looks pretty kino, I don't really play these board games, but they seem artsy and stuff to collect.

true yeah plenty of art you can collect just go to your local card shop / show and see what jumps out at you

I got 2 amoongus EX out of the same ETB killing myself

rip

I got a maractus illustration rare tho so not all bad gonna buy some more next thursday

good luck anon

Thanks I just started collecting again after over 10 years of not doing so. My little brother got me back into it. I got a bunch of old cards I forgot about from 2006-2012 ish l. Some are worth quite a bit especially the original ex and gold star cards. I like the art on these new sets though. Blows the old shit out of the water

Based cardboard poster

Got any Zards that aren't in card form?

Based charizard obsession I had an obsession with mew and mewtwo when I was a kid I got alot of the older cards for them but I never got the team rockets mewtwo ex or mew gold star

Whats a charizard card you don't have?

the original base set ones, still mostly just have the cheaper zards no rare vintages yet

biztranniez into pokemon now

Oh so you're the fags who've been scalping

doubt theres many scalpers in Anon Babble its the lame whatnot streamers or sneakerheads now that their shit hobby has dried up they're reselling pokemon now kek

Do you have reverse holo charizard g from supreme victors? I found out they're priced pretty good and I got like 4 of them

nah dont have any of those yet, nice what are they priced? (guess depends on condition but roughly)

found old possibly PSA5~8 vintage Pokemon cards in my storage

check prices for grading

grading will cost more than the value of the PSA5

Do I still grade them just in case people start to want lower PSA cause all the scalpers hold the PSA 10 and shit?

grade the best one relative to the sales velocity, sell it, take profits, repeat

2 complete base sets

1 complete fossil

1 complete neo

all left behind

all that remains is a promo suicune from the third movie

no shotgun to suck start

hurts every day

rip :( but at least younger you had fun collecting them

What if I just want to grade them cause I want them graded? Do I just do it and ignore market conditions? Like I'm not even really into Pokemon anymore. Yugioh is my jam and that I know I got a shit ton of older cards in better condition cause Yugioh cards were so easy to damage that I took extra care of taking care of my cards since starting my collection in like 2003.

cause Yugioh cards were so easy to damage

Shit I remember that

Kek been buying cheap QCR's lately. I know those are gonna pump in price once Konami stops printing them and people fomo in. I started with like $1~4 QCRs

i mean if you're just grading for the sake of grading then yeah doesnt matter what order you do it in

but i wouldnt recommend grading stuff that looks like it'll get PSA 5, you can just decide in future to grade if becomes viable

dad gets home

hey bud wanna go get some pokeman?

Fuck yeah I had fun. I’m starting to get back into it now. Seeing bare shelves is crazy. Also, is PSA still giving out 5s that should've been 8-9s?

I've been looking into it and I know I got some that should be easily 7~10 but I don't know how their grading works and there isn't a card show close to me that I could go to assess my cards to know which is which that's worth grading at that point. Also these are from Base Set 1 to around Neo Genesis so I don't really know if people are even looking for them. My Base Set Mewtwo's borders are degrading just from being in storage so I don't even know if that's worth even grading. Never played it and it was always in the binder then moved safely into a storage case when I needed the binder a long time ago for Yugioh and that case was sealed and didn't move around but when I opened it today, some cards just degraded. That Mewtwo I really want to get graded so is my Articuno from the Legendary Collection.

Yugioh is easier to collect than Pokemon at the moment and that's fucking insane. I was in the card store and I can buy some of the newer sets for Yugioh for like $80 that has 24 packs, but for Pokemon a fucking booster box that has like 5 packs is like $100.

nice but yeah demand is crazy atm so hard to get pokemon products, but dont worry it'll correct itself soon (same happened in 2020 covid boom)

It's a damn shame YuGiOh never took off like Pokemon. The actual card game was so fun to play and the art was fucking wild. I was considering getting a couple packs last time I was out but..
Every time I get (back) into something, the market explodes within 24 hours. Pokemon TCG didn't explode in 2020 because of covid, it exploded because I bought a couple packs and wanted to start collecting again.

YuGiOh never took off like Pokemon

What are you talking about? People literally have channels that market watch Yugioh cards like it's some kind of stock market. PSA stuff goes for thousands as well so is box cracking.

kek

Probably a poor choice of words, but everywhere I go that sells Pokemon is a barren wasteland. Yet the YuGiOh section looks untouched.

Cause the supply chain for the cards are fine but the moment you go and look for Primites, Ryzeal, Maliss, Mulcharmy cards, they're nowhere to be found and people literally collect Quarter Century Rares. And value? The good ones go for a lot while the bad one only starts going up in price once the printing stops. I also just came back to Yugioh recently and I bought that Blue Eyes structure deck cause it looked solid and I pulled a Maiden of White QCR which goes from $100~180. So yeah no, Yugioh is definitely not lagging behind, people are just smart in the community and not do fist fights in stores for it lmao. Oh yeah and Konami added a Gacha mechanic to the structure deck.

I'm just glad no super influential person in the mainstream media is doing Yugioh cause we might have that same issue with Pokemon when the Sneakerheads that are scalping Pokemon now realize Yugioh is just as expensive and still easier to access cause they're not yet scalping the shit out of it.

Well shit, I'll pick up a couple packs next time I'm out. I hope you're ready.

packs

kek you won't really get shit in a few packs, the whole meta is cracking boxes. Packs are expensive if you buy them as single packs. Boxes are usually discounted by 30~40% so people just box boxes. The new set coming out in mid April has a good amount of hype. Last time Konami will be releasing anything with Quarter Century Rarity. The new standard people are expecting for foils is what they call a Platinum Secret Rare.
