We aren't really interested in share of foreign vs domestic employment. We are interested in the rate of employment of domestic workers. Compare economy (a) in which 50% of all jobs are held by foreigners, but citizens are at 98% employment, to alternative economy (b) where 2% of jobs are held by foreigners, but citizen employment is at 65%, which would you rather have? God forbid those 2% are disproportionately elite level positions while the 65% are low income jobs.

The first outcome (a) is similar to what Saudi Arabia has - all the shitty jobs are held by foreigners to the benefit of Saudi's who don't really work and just sit around and collect checks. Both are bad outcomes but you're acting as if a lower percentage of foreign employment necessarily equals good. It doesn't.

While I'm open to the idea that Trump's administration has a plan they're enacting (although I also think it has a low chance of working), the idea that the economy has been fixed or broken in the past 100 days just seems retarded. I'm paying more-or-less the same for everything that I was paying two years ago, and people are still suffering from the same gradual attrition that they were before. The only exceptions are doctors, lawyers, engineers, etc, and even they're aware that things are tougher than they ought to be. I have personally seen no difference in the amount which I'm able to save/invest every month, my dollar goes no further, and there's been no increase in job opportunities. If my portfolio weren't mostly crypto and precious metals, I'd have taken a round trip over the past few months.

This just seems to underscore how retarded the metrics are that are currently used. The only difference I've observed is businesses' lives being more difficult if they rely at all on foreign suppliers (this is a lot of small businesses btw), but I understand this could change if Trump manages to drastically reduce taxes, makes some heavy regulatory reforms, or somehow gets Congress to greatly reduce spending.
