He's a soldier of the workforce. Not everyone can be doctors and lawyers etc... every cog of society needs to be filled. It's disasterous that mechanical engineers are being put in these positions. Trade labor is arguably much better, but somebody needs to do his job. My two cents is for him to get a different job with less pay in a rural area. There is nothing more important than your sanity. Going postal is a product of how manifest destiny set in place the structure that is still being used for many jobs. Shitty work conditions, even for jobs where it doesn't make sense to have shitty work conditions. Understandable for coal miners and oil rig workers, that's just the way done trades are, but a mechanical engineer should have a modicum of peace on their life to be as productive as they can.
