I am saying that this process of selling bonds doesn't need to happen and also that the Fed and Treasury can set their respective rates wherever they want them.

In in Europe and whatever you buy from the US will be held in customs, checked and labelled with taxes and problems, delays. If I buy something from china it will be transported by the national postage service to my hands without ANY extra taxes on it. Tarrifs are just one part of it and trump boiled it down to tarrifs as this is easy to understand and also apply in retaliation. He doesn't want to implement the same regulations, rules and bureocracy that works on stopping products flowing into the EU. If EU puts zero tarrifs on US chicken you still can't import it here cause its not allowed for some good rules (for good reasons or not but you get point)

They agreed to pay them, and the government can always afford to pay the interest on bonds because it issues the money. I am saying there is no functional necessity to actually sell bonds to "cover" a deficit. It was already covered when they credited the account, like all government spending. The government is a currency issuer, not a currency user. It does not need to acquire deposits before it can spend. It has to spend first because it is the origin point for currency to begin with.
