Reminder stackturds getting smoked by IQELITE, lmao that's why they are seething
its rare
Hello new fren.
I'll answer to the best of my ability and in order.
Is silver just the poor man's gold?
Yes, but it is good to have some too.
In what case would it benefit me to buy silver if i can afford gold coins instead?
The historic and natural ratio of silver to gold is about 10 to 1, currently it's been artificially supressed to 100 to 1, so silver has a lot of room to grow and you can buy it relatively cheap now. another benefit is that if it comes to it, silver can be used to make small purchases like groceries in an hyperinflation scenario.
is it better to buy in bar form or coin form?
sovereign coins are better than rounds and rounds are better than bars, since sovereign coins (minted by a state) are considered legal tender, they pay less taxes when buying and selling them in some countries and won't give you trouble while going through customs if you are crossing borders. also bars are easier to counterfeit and more difficult to test for autenticity using non invasive methods.
if i actually want to convert to cash again, i'd have to physically bring it to some shop right? my autism will make that difficult.
take your fucking meds or try to sell them online, I have a friend who set up his own e-coin shop and sells PMs there, you can also sell them on ebay but they will rape you with the comission. just take your meds and sell them in a coinshop if that time comes.
TLDR: buy gold coins and also silver coins, preferably Krugerrands, Maples, British Sovereigns, Brittanias, Phillarmonics, Eagles and Libertads. buy ounces of silver and 1/4 ounces of gold if possible. if you are stacking as an investment avoid rare or fancy coins leave the numismatic rarities to collectors. go for well-known coins and try to get them for as close as possible to spot value.
The only silver I don't really like are my war nickels, but it's neat to have a big pile of them. I'd trade for mercs or quarters or franklins in a heartbeat if I could without losing a lot in the process
ITS A TOTAL FREAKSHOW IM LAUGHING I SHOULDNT BE LAUGHING BUT IM LAUGHING
Reminder silver is a dead assets it pays no return, lmao I already got $14000 in dividends from EC
What Bugs You Edition
Apathy, but not in others, that's just another opportunity for me.
What's palladium?
What's palladium?
Russian gold
Crypto nerds will seethe.
10 years of pmg and no one has made it....lmao
Some pen parts
35 years of trolling and IQ still gets no respect
Here's hoping we don't have to, do you have any idea what that would entail for the economy and the layman? We would have to bring back slavery for the majority population to survive and I'm not too keen with the idea of having to pay for their upkeep.
fuck all non-rock holderzz
meme metal
stick with silver and gold
dont try to be cute
Received some coins today, one got me kekking out loud. I really wanted pic related, but price was too high for my tastes. Thankfully one in ?? condition (very blurry pic) was being auctionned earlier this week.
Got it for a quarter of the usual price, which made me very happy, but now i have it in hand i understand why. Never seen a coin cleaned so harshly, it looks like it was dipped into acid for a month, then polished with an industrial grade sander. It's so bad the incuse writings on the edge is almost entirely gone. Will post some pics later itt. Why do ppl do this to their coins? :(
I moved my retirement to a gold IRA back in 2019. Feels good man
Why brag about being dumb?
ngmi
I am never caught slackin' with my stackin'
Some pen parts
You have endless ancient pens/pen parts on ebay, if you look after a 18K nib or cap's clamp, you should give it a try there.
How did /pmg/ come to be the most persecuted general on Anon Babble?
The government has no way to confiscate BTC
If it was true then the US government wouldn't be the largest btc holder while they never boughted any...
I've never seen it as bad as this.
cash it out now for physical or ur dumb
The government has no way to confiscate BTC
Ok retard.
By being the rudest, scammiest bunch of lying scumbag shilljeets. Lmao read a thread and see for yourself
somethin like this
Richfags are mad we aren't their exit liquidity in the stock market casino and worse : we do what they planned to do, and give it visibility.
It make them sneed uncontrollably, to them we are vermin who are "stealing" their precious golb und silber.
We must be punished for such offense.
You are a pajeet silver scammer hired by premium grabbing coin merchants
How could broke losers be anyone's exit liquidity? Lmao
• W h o
benefits from us dumping our money into an """investment""" that goes down in value as prices and inflation goes up? — an """investment""" that over time goes down in value more than even fiat does?
• W h o
benefits from us believing such an """investment""" is a good choice?
• W h o
benefits from us buying such an "asset" instead of assets that in contrast result in massive profits?
God I wish I had a set of Intaglio Silverbugs and Aussie Shipwreck triforces.
my ip is definitely on a janny list, been getting warnings and stuff on other boards for literally nothing
bc gay as rocks are going tonbe used to buy bitcoins and the only people not aware of this are silver and gold fags
... unironically
prussia. victory over napoleon commemorative. neat coins. i like them too.
i had that happen with the last two coins that i won at an auction. both were listed as prachtexemplar bu and they were obviously harshly cleaned once i saw them in hand. what auction house was it?
I actually don't disagree with this, however why would i buy satoshis now at it's vastly bloated current price when i can probably trade gold and silver for whole bitcoins later?
The answer i suspect is that you want us to buy your bags now rather than later.
Lmao you are a streetshitter you can't buy anything with 3cents
( ( ( ( ( ( ( ( ( S I L V E R ) ) ) ) ) ) ) ) )
Very revealing choice of an OP image, OP.
My first haul, modified this lockbox, added the padding and stuck the folder to hold receipts and fiat. My first silver purchase was 2 10 Oz samurai bars, a 5 Oz bar, 1 Oz bar and a 1 Oz Koala coin and then 2 1/10 Oz gold coins
fuck he's right
brb selling all my PMs
samurai bars
Uhh, based!
Awesome coin
yus, this is where I'm buying
O L I G O D Y N A M I C E F F E C T
I'm just collecting what looks cool while building up as many ounces of silver as I can
an excellent strategem
Wanna get this one next but I'll probably wait until after I get paid
Is it a good idea to put money into a physical fund like PHYS or PSLV (though this isn't so much needed for silver) while saving up enough to buy bullion while still following price movements or should I just buy as soon as I have money even if its fractional?
Checked and keked...
The government can easily confiscate precious metals...
Which agencies are despatching officers to locate these possible treasure troves? The secret service? The FBI? The IRS? There's tens of millions of doors to kick in. That sounds more like fighting a counterinsurgency than doing something "easily" done.
Ask me how I know you have no goddamn idea what EO 6102 did.
Hell yeah fren! Keep on stackin!
appreciate the reply, thx
the 1933 prohibition on ownership of gold involved almost no confiscations. They did the same thing with machine guns. They just made it illegal and then people turned it in on their own. Those that didn't turn it in died with it and their kids turned it in.
If someone managed to hold gold from 1933 to 1975 they were free and clear. Just a lot older by then.
Nice choice with the Asahi, very kino
Also in case you're actually interested, I was alive when gold was illegal. All my family had gold. The problem is you can get the stuff out of the dirt. So it's impossible to actually confiscate it. It's pretty much everywhere and anyone that wants to can go get some. My earliest memories of panning gold were when it was illegal.
My earliest memories of panning gold were when it was illegal.
Still is in national parks, so nostalgia is right around the corner fren...
Just like back then, it's almost impossible to police the wilderness. Modern rangers are in trucks, on foot, on 4wheelers, maybe on horses. But go a mile away from the trail or the road and not only will they never see you, nobody will. People now are scared shitless of stepping off the trails, so you can do pretty much whatever you want if you get back into the woods a ways.
Buy my memerounds. Don't you want to fit in?
At $3kUSD/ozt panning now pays better than a regular job in my area.
to pan well you need a shit ton of a equipment though
it's hard to lug all that into the wilderness without attracting attention
nah, a shovel and a screen and a pan are about all I need that's not normal camping gear.
I mostly stick to legal sites though. No point breaking the law when most of the gold is legal to pan anyways.
When I don't feel like sneaking in to pan I'll just take my truck out in the woods and bring the dirt home to me. I can haul a couple tons of good gold dirt if it's rich enough to be worth the time. Then I get it home and dump it in the yard and pan it with the garden hose.
I've gotten a few ounces over the years that way. Just find some good dirt and drive off with it. It's not like someone is going to notice a couple yards of missing dirt.
Wow
I mean wow
with gold mooning so much i wonder if panning will get more common
I don't think so, the same people that are scared of going off trail are probably scared of getting a ticket for panning.
It's a dying hobby. You're usually out of cell phone range, no video games to play. The only way it's coming back is if we have another depression.
all the old knowledge of skills and locations is carefully guarded by people like me and Pan Man. We don't tell people our spots. It takes a lifetime to learn what we know, and nobody else is seriously going to catch up to us in a month or even a year.
damn dude u sound cool
is there any gold in the northeast? where would you recommend i start looking
Does anyone else here feel like Silver is about to pull off a wacky move next week Friday? Mayhaps Tax day (April 15th) might do something to Silver as in a potential drop? But then it'll rebound really crazily by Friday? Just postulating here.
P.S. Sorry for the crappy picture, I'm not the best photographer.
I am definitely NOT cool. I am the opposite of cool.
I don't think panning is legal in the NE, but there is gold there. I only know gold in my own area. Sorry. If you google "gold in (my state)" you'll find info.
the best spots are secrets though. The people that hunt gold don't share the good spots.
hahahaha these threads are becoming absolutely insane!! We must be weeks away from the silver moonshot, that's that only way I can make sense of this nonsense.
yup it's insane in the membrane
sorry, I'm just getting excited about panning season finally starting and gold being over 3k
once you get enough of those flakes do you heat em up and squish em together to try to make a coin or what
I amalgamate them in mercury and then distill the mercury off and then melt into a bead and then pour the bead into water and then roll the resulting beads very thin and then treat with nitric acid and then filter and melt again to make a button of fairly pure gold.
that pic I posted upthread with a couple bottles of mercury and amalgam shows some gold I've recovered and purified and melted.
No, you're posts are cool. Some of the only ones that aren't insane ITT.
I'm glad to see panning in /pmg/ actually. Spent the weekend watching panning/metal detecting/sluice videos coincidentally enough.
ok thanks
lately I've been playing with making my own nitric acid to purify gold using muriatic acid, ammonium nitrate fertilizer, hydrogen peroxide and fertilizer.
it's amazing what you can find on youtube nowdays. But I think it might be cheaper to just buy the dang nitric online.
i had that happen with the last two coins that i won at an auction.
No bro it's not comparable, i assure you. You are chasing after MS65+ pristine stuff, here i'm talking about a coin so beaten down you can't read the date.
It's like comparing your finding a spec of dust over an italian marble tile in your castle and REE after your sexy maid, while i find out a crazy hobo dropped a burning tire in my quechua tent where i live under the bridge of Brooklin. We are not the same.
I like the metal detecting vids, but that's just my personal fave. Panning is a job, but right now it seems like a good job.
I was going to show you this last thread
I normally do 2k/mo,
I'm down to 300 per
did u take those out of the containers yourself, or did they come that way? (like the suisse one, i imagine it came in some kind of package). any downside to doing this? i do want to be able to hold it in my hand though
W h o benefits from us dumping our money into an """investment""" that goes down in value as prices and inflation goes up?
at least i can press the sell button in my brokerage and convert to cash immediately
Ouch!
For me the drop was from 4K down to 3K. The 1K missing being what i usually get with US sales; so not nearly that bad.
Sometimes it feels like ebay is messing big time with sellers' visibility, especially when you don't list something for a while.
Which happen to me since i only list stuff when they do their 50/60/70% commission rebates. I guess it's the same for you?
I do a flat 15% no discount ever because I've been selling a long time. Sales are way down US side. Might be eBay is less popular, not sure. But the last couple months dropped way off.
regarding visibility I'm the same as always. They don't hide my stuff because it sells, but I don't pay to promote it.
but I don't pay to promote it.
Yeah me neither, i never paid for promotion, never do discounts, don't propose buyers to make offers. But i still sell because i'm the cheapest availible. I propose mostly low end numismatic old coins.
What kind of stuff are you selling?
I'm bob, selling exonumia mostly. My best year was 3 years back when I did $75k in sales. This year I'll be lucky to break $10k the way it's going.
Ah it's you Bobbybro! Yeah there are chances it's going to be a bad year for business, too much uncertainty. Plus maybe a lot of ppl are waiting on the sideline for an opportunity to slurp, so they set aside their cash for the moment. At least that's how it feels like when i lurk on /smg/.
looks like someone skipped classes, don't worry all of those are hard ass rocks(as hard as my schlong while I was looking at the goglz chart) that they use to make electronics and some other fancy stuff, and the other ones are just pieces of paper that mean to be gold, silver, dirt or whatever the fuck they want them to say nowadays
that's my feeling too
I love that your business is way bigger than mine though. That's so good to see. I'm gearing up to do some panning this year instead of flipping coins. Gold is looking tasty
You know what fits in you? Deez nutz.
Pmg is peak weird now
Intaglio Silverbugs
Keep checking Limited Mintage. They've been bringing an odd bug back once in a while.
IQ always fucks off when I start posting.
I think it's because he wants people to believe he's me. Or maybe he realizes he can't get a word in edgewise when I'm on a bender and talking about metal detecting/prospecting/flipping coins.
either way, enjoy your hour or two of pajeet-free pmg posting while that forlorn turdie takes a break to go fuck himself.
I'm gearing up to do some panning this year instead of flipping coins.
Wish you the best then, i'm sure you'll do fine with your expertise. Don't be too hard on your body tho, my back is hurting just imagining you panning kek.
I'd kinda like some of these triangular... rounds? Bet they're hard to find now though.
lol I got kids to do the digging, screening, and hauling. I should be a grandpa by now but my boys are slow to carry on the family tradition of getting laid. I'll be ok though, my boys got strong backs and like getting gold
I forgot about that site, thanks for the reminder. I had a lot going on the last couple years, and didn't do much in the way of collecting / stacking.
I love those Shipwrecks in the picture. They were way ahead of the curve making funky shaped coins. I'm not a fan of the squiggly ones that the Royal Mint / Canada make now, but there's just something about the Doritos that's satisfying.
They're coins. $1 AUD fv. Royal Australian Mint, not Perth. I was fast asleep on stacking when those dropped.
