many U.S. manufacturers rely on imported parts -> costs rise -> production slows -> layoffs
global supply chains reroute away from the U.S. and countries beging trading with each other to avoid American tariffs
U.S. companies start offshoring more just to avoid the higher costs at home
countries will shift away from using the U.S. dollar in trade to avoid being vulnerable to U.S. economic weaponry (BRICS, CBDCs, CIPS gain power)
farmers, exporters and multinationals will revolt against the administration
U.S. companies lose competitiveness globally
stock markets tank due to instability and uncertainty
protectionism feeds protectionism (other countries close up and become more nationalistic)
