so the cartoon symbolises that pmg fags are broke reddit retards?

Posting again for new thread - Anyone else collect a random world silver set? Here's my British Raj Rupee Collection. They are nice big silver coins. I've been sniping them on eBay over the past year and my average cost is $18.26 which I'm quite proud of since it includes a lot of Victoria and even a William III issue. Autistic fact: you can instantly tell a British coin is a Indian one since the Obverse titles the ruler as "Emperor" instead of just "Rex".

silver is STILL at 30 dollars
holy shit

Yes. I bought silver in 2014 and it’s had fuck all gains after adjusting for inflation. Imagine if I had put the same money into BTC.

deficit in silver by 2050

Yeah so just bag hold another 25 years missing 4x more bull runs to get some gains after having already bagheld for 10 years lol

I need an exit pump so I can get out

My second gold purchase in the span of just a week. This market volatility for gold & silver has been a fun ride.

Congrats, that's neat fren.
I don't collect full sets per say, even tho i own a complete 5RM big windmills + churches one. But i'm chasing after good deals i can find online, often from random lots, and in just 1 & half year i ended up with quite the collection i must say. I started with a 5K€ budget for numismatics, and just by slurping and flipping them, i now have a 20k+€ collection.
I think that was a decent approach because it forced me to learn about all the periods, and all the places, either it be feudal yurop, medieval middle east, colonial africa, renaissance.. Only ideograms characters (chinese mainly) i prefer to not delve in too much because ancient coins are too similar and it's too hard to notice the little details making them differents. Plus it's full of fakes ofc.

My favorites are my ancient greek silver, mostly consisting of tetradrachms, staters & drachms. That's the only ones i'm not willing to part with.
And just like you i like Victoria coinage, even though among the 19-20th C. silver, my favorites are italian silber, followed by german.

Idk about you, but i will continue to focus more and more on ancient greece personally, those are the ones i really fell in love with. The excitment when you hold one is not comparable to any others coins. Picrel just showed up in the mail few days ago, and i can't stop fondling the owl!

crypto nerds will seethe

Also your Ptolemy V tetra is absolutely gorgeous, can you post the eagle side?

Abandon thread. Make a new one with an uncucked OP.

Agreed. OP is a samefagging crypto-cuck

Speaking of slurp, the swiss enjoyer will surely appreciate this one : 240€ for the lot.
Quite a deal, because not only it's worth 330€ at melt value, but the lot contain every 5F key year (1937, 48, 49, 50) but for 1952. Even out of the 2F there is a rare 1932 + 1F 1899. All those fetch x2 their melt value.

Lately it's been really hard to slurp good deals, the competition is harsh ever since silver went north of $30, so i was super happy to secure this one last week.

Must salute IQ's dedication into ruining this general by any mean necessary kek.

Post stack

/pmg/ chads, do not post itt
make a new general please

Thanks king! I think I want to get a stack of like 100 5RM for $2k, not sure if I want to pull the trigger on it though or just slowly try to collect up to that level.

I really like that approach to collecting numismatics, I like getting forced to learn deep about periods and places. It just helps connect with history so easily.

I love tetradrachms, want to get some more. My dream is to get a solid Athenian owl(super basic, but I know you get it) but also build up a collection of Alexander III tetras.

I've been starting to get interested in those large german silver coins(Thalers?)

And fuck yeah nothing beats holding an old lump of silver and being like "fuck some dudes 2000 years ago were using this"

Congrats on the beautiful owl grab, how much did that one cost you? Any tips on where I should keep an eye out other than the usual? I have a nice coin store near me I frequently check, haven't had a bad experience with them yet: hjbltd.com/#!/department/ancient-coins
hell yeah bro check it out. Largest purchase I made, grabbed it for $425 after it didn't sell at their most recent auction

Imagine if I had put the same money into BTC.

Imagine if you had put it in all the projects who rugged wich represent 99.99% of the cryptospace? You only hear about bitcorn because that's *the* (((success story))) pushed by few whales, but when was the last time you heard about bitconnect? Or the literally thousands of others dead projects with scummy devs?

Like the majority of baggies, you'd most likely have been in the second category, the one of cucks who got their life savings rugged. For one success story, there are 4,000 dead projects.
Actually, even if you held btc since 2014, you'd statistically had more chance of losing it than owning it to this day (55% total loss rate), from hardwire dying, loss of keys, onchains bans, gubment seizings, hackers phishing, etc...

You may boohoo all you want, but none of this happen with physical gold & silver. Once you have it it's yours and can't magically vanish for a trillion different reasons because it doesn't fucking exist in the physical realm.

I'm not gonna post. I'll wait for a new thread.

I have 10 pure silver Chris chan coins. Are those worth anything?

hell yeah bro check it out. Largest purchase I made

It looks fantastic, the eagle is mogging the animal kingdom on this coin. I too have one Pto V, but it's in such destitute condition i'd rather not post it lol.

Congrats on the beautiful owl grab, how much did that one cost you?

200 bux, it's a drachm. But i also have a tetradrachm owl, early period (-460 version) pic rel. Got it for real cheap, 260 bux iirc, from an antique coin shop closing down their physical location and liquidating everything at $1 starter on ebay.

I like getting forced to learn deep about periods and places. It just helps connect with history so easily.

I lose myself on wiki anytime a new ruler i don't know about appear on my coins, nothing like numismatics for history enjoyers like us.

but also build up a collection of Alexander III tetras.

Shouldn't be too hard then, Alex was such an iconic figure i wouldn't be surprised if 20% of all the greek/macedonian tetradrachms ever minted are the classical Alexander wearing his leonide + Zeus on his throne on the reverse. That's nice for you, because new opportunities to acquire those appear all the time so with a bit of patience you'd get great deals.

Any tips on where I should keep an eye out other than the usual?
Not really, i mostly wander over on ebay and similar, i don't like much online auction houses with all their abusive fees and taxes.
I'd say you might want to keep an eye on coinsarchives.com to see what's about to get auctioned on various places in the coming months. It's also a great source to discover all kinds of rare antique designs.

Why do stackers celebrate when they lose money is that self hating mental illness or just cope for losing money? Pmg is the only place you see that phenomena

New bread

Please don't post in this thread.
IQDelete created it.

i just checked bcuz i wasn't sure about the price, but it was even less than that.
Those were quite the deals. Got half a dozen ancients from this sale, in retrospect i wish i went much harder on the slurping that day. The store put something ridiculous like 250 tetradrachms in auction ending the same day, that's why they went for so cheap, wallet burn was real after few hours in the day.

btc now down 5400. two ounces of gold have been airdropped out of my possession.

I started with a 5K€ budget for numismatics, and just by slurping and flipping them, i now have a 20k+€ collection.

I'm glad to hear this worked for you

I swear on me mum that's how I got a ~$100k token collection for free in 4 years flat

0626241811c.jpg - 631x647, 134.82K

Hell yeah brother!! Keep it up man. I love seeing this type of content on /pmg/ , as far as I know, there are no other boards or generals with coin collecting info right?

that's incredible actually

Also.... just pulled the trigger on the 100 5RM for 2k, gonna try to flip those bad boys on eBay to normies for $35ish each. Wish me luck

swiss bro where are you! He will like this for sure. I was inspired by him and picked up like x10 1 Francs on eBay yesterday

Nice, gl bro, I'm going to get a hundo of the 2RM when my paycheck clears in a week. Not going to flip em, just enjoy the windmills

That's fuckin awesome. I want a pile of 2F and 5F, they look so great. Well done fren

Has anyone ever taken one of the the /pmg/ meme coins to a coin shop before?

Has anyone ever taken one of the the /pmg/ meme coins to a coin shop before?

yep

we've even seen a couple being sold by coin shops. One was an $800 coin sold for $37

Literally kill yourself nigger

Which one(s)?

an Aputannia (or two?) were sold in a local coin shop in England (some anon slurped them up)

/pmg/ edition

I'll need to update my memecoin group soon.
Hopefully.

PMG_Memecoins.jpg - 1520x1440, 577.11K

Did you score one of the best memecoins?

He buys PMs to get rich

I buy PMs because I like the shiny coins

We are not the same

Noice, where are you getting those?
Gold.de sites? Or randomly from ebay?

He buys PMs to get rich

You buy PMs because I like the shiny coins

Why not both ?

Well I probably wouldn't be paying premiums for slabbed graded coins if I was speculating for one...
I do view it as an investment, just more as a hedge to offset the risk elsewhere in my portfolio rather than a key component of building wealth. But it's mostly aesthetics that I pick coins off of.

Good news guys get ur bitcoin cheapies. It's always great when your investments go down, even better when they crash or never even go up to begin with. Im loving it!.

and a third one :3

"infinite money glitch" as Saylor calls it

As a huge (hyuge!) bitcoin holder, 7 figures, I hate that guy he just drives bitcoin higher and higher with his bigboy financial wizardry. It's better if bitcoin stays low forever so we can buy cheapies. That's one of the (many) things i learned from pmg and why i will never leave this blog. Hopefully my great grandchildren will be able to buy bitcoin for $300 like i did
