Look Anon, I'll be completely honest with you from a dev perspective. People in Web3 build in a single modality: EVM, Cosmos, Solana (I guess), and increasingly Move-based stuff (which I think is the future and includes Sui, Aptos, and Supra Oracles is talking about making a Move-based L1).
Essentially NO ONE is building dapps that run on several different chains. There are the rare exceptions, but no one is doing that shit because it makes no sense and is difficult. I tried to build a little test dapp to make osmosis talk with avalanche and it was a pain in the ass.
So everything Chainlink is shilling is always some future scenario and doesn't represent what anyone is doing. If they claim otherwise, it is always some private company that no one can verify onchain. Furthermore, they really are constantly changing the direction of what they're doing. It was oracles, then CCIP, now it is the Chainlink Runtime. However, none of the previous services got any adoption. Chainlink Functions (oracles) is a piece of shit that no one uses. The sandbox is trash and is unironically college-student-project tier. The service itself is limited and shitty.
I admittedly have only done a simple GMP example with CCIP but that wasn't too great either, but regardless, all these supposed "bank users plugging their private chains into each other" is shit we can't really prove or show, so you're gonna have to truth>trust them.
The new thing is Chainlink Runtime which is "in development". It buys them enough time to ride out this bull run just at the perfect time...just like last time. It's all fucking gay and feels really familiar honestly. Kind of like when Sergey said "CCIP soon" when Link was still over $30 and I bagheld back to $5.
Even just thinking about this while typing was frustrating.
