I guess the trick is always try be happy with what you have. There's almost always going to be many people way below and way above you. And you might be rich (and poor) in other ways.

I make slave wages as a flight instructor and flying little bullshit jobs like banner towing, but I like it. Wife is nearing the end of medical school, which only means she’ll soon be earning slave wages as a medical resident working 80-100 hour weeks. We are debt free, which to me is a win considering how expensive our professional training was.
Eventually it pays off I guess. We’ll see.
