Grateful today's a lot better than yesterday. Was close to $470 P/L Day for VKTX but it's so volatile that it didn't hit that strike price.

How'd everyone's day go?

NVDA dumps faster than GME when it got halted, lmao. I'm bleeding my ass out here. Atleast Tesla has pumped a bit. Can't wait for SPY to break 565, this shit environment of it trapped in 545-560 is so toxic.

my $TARS is gunna go to mars

I bought puts on NVIDIA. Up $5000 kek.

Short puts or long?

"Easy money is here again!" declares Yahoo Finance.

Am I the only one that's uneasy about how flippant people are about the upcoming rate drop? Nothing has really been solved or improved, it's like we are just happily digging a bigger hole.

long. I'm using Robinhood

your country has been sold, bought and paid for long ago. at this point it's who gets the bigger share of the pie before it all inevitably falls to pieces

this deserves a screencap at this point. it's gonna be a running joke in a year from now

Remember to load up on TMF before Friday. Expect another 800,000 or so jobs to get 'revised down'.

Lowered economic growth attributed to increase in domestic immigration will drop the price of housing. Those with mortgages to become poor forever.

Financial moves present themselves for Anon Babble users.
1. Present this information to mortgage paying wage workers, to force workers to pull out of mortgages early.
2. Pull financial investments in banks
3. Buy houses when they drop in value and develop
4. Reduce lawyer investment
5. Increase lawyer investment agency to apply claims

US steel going out of bizness

It's literally over. Anons posting lust provoking anime avatars and thinking nshidia matters when we can't make our gotdamn steel anymore.

Shorting it at 106? Seems risky.

DOLLAR GENERAL IS A BUY ON THE MONTHLY AND 3 MONTH
NOT A DRILL.

Load up your calls if you dare.

So?

Tomorrows trades. I think NVDA will bounce back, fueled by the subpoena info being 'false'. I don't think it tanked because of this necassarily, but think it has a good chance to pump from this narrative. Hedging this with a put on SPY since this week has been volatile and the jobs report is on the 6th.

and where's that guy who doesn't understand EV, I wasn't done with you

i lost a lot of money this week because my hedge order never filled when the market dipped monday and I didn't notice until I was too emotional. Here's what I've learned:

cancel all orders if a) not already holding a hedge position or b) total risk is less than 5%

e.g, if trades will go south if SPY collapses, buy puts on spy to hedge and vice versa

read news in morning before open, ensure orders fill as planned

set stop losses on all short term positions, end options trades quickly

abandon positions quickly if market doesn't open in my favor, considering stopping trading for the day

convert portfolio to 80% cash, 20% options (limit risk exposure, and ensure funds are always available for hedging)

Hoping to make the money back, but I don't mind considering it a tuition fee.

Thanks for the post. I bought some calls on DG.

How do I convince myself to stop timing the market and start buying XEQT every month regardless of the market performance? I can't shake off the feeling that it's probably the worst time of the century to buy.

Can anyone tell me why the Max Loss on this short put is so low?

file.png - 1208x914, 168.23K

Look at the chart over 5y or 10y. Imagine this is a roulette table in a casino and you can bet on red or black. Which side are you putting your money on?

Isn't max loss always just going to be the difference between your two strikes? My question is how you found a max profit that high.

Hey, I'm still here! Though until you convince me otherwise, I'm pretty sure my EV math is right and 0dte calls for $0.01 are a bad deal.

As someone who worked there for 7 years and quit in June, no it isnt a buy

Guessing the whole operation is falling apart?

Yeah it's shit. They have zero clue how to handle inventory and they lose millions from it. They can't retain employees for more than a few weeks and put up so many stores within a small radius they can't find anyone to hire. They keep getting fined for unsafe work conditions too but do nothing to fix it

That sucks. Of all the companies that could use a turn around, I wouldn't mind seeing someone competent take a shot at fixing dollar general's business operation.

you don't subtract the bet from EV, that's included in the EV calc as the probable loss. the napkin math example was probably wrong in some other way, but it ended up being positive EV thus profitable

Yeah, as someone who used to ocassionally go to a Dollar General for a few things, I've quit going because their inventory has just taken a nose dive. I'll go in and various random shelves will be empty. Nobody even seems to be present at the store, with the self checkout being the only way to get your shit out. That DG is in a kind of iffy part of town anyway and I'd imagine they get a lot of theft at the location from simply having people put shit in their hoodies and walk out with it.

That sounds wack as fuck. I just looked them up and it seems Boston Consulting Group is working with them, and BCG has a court proven history of fucking up quite a few companies.

Yeah, people definitely stole at self checkouts but they also hardly ever worked. Ours was rarely turned on because it kept breaking and would never take cash. These things cost $100,000 each to put in and were pieces of shit. Then they shut every one of them down storewide a few months ago because they blamed their losses on theft. In reality they are so ass at inventory management I am sure they are losing much more through that. We would get boxes upon boxes of things that we didn't need or were from other stores, these would sit in the backroom for literally years. Their seasonal is a bunch of useless shit they wouldn't stop sending and it has no where to go.

There was nothing we could do about fixing the overstock problem either. They wanted us to do counts on everything in the store every week, then would reset those counts anyway and send us whatever they wanted. Then they came up with a stupid system of, where if you don't sell a product type within like 5 weeks, the count would automatically go to 0 and they'd send more. Some shit just doesn't move off the shelf ever so that would also be piling up in the back.

Idk, shit was wack. I left because I wanted to go to school, and with 4 trucks coming every week for various things, never on time or even on the scheduled day, so I was basically on call, I just didn't have the time to deal with it anymore. And even on your rare day off, the chances of someone not showing up so you'd get asked to come in were like 80/20

That sounds brutal man, can't believe they're at $78. Fuck all that incompetency and get the school done. Hopefully you can get a solid gig to supplement your trading/life shenanigans. Good luck with the classes though.

Thanks man. After 7 years it was definitely time to do something with my life.

is it time to go long on the S&P?
I've been sitting in fuckin money market funds since I rode NVDA from ~35 to 128 and bailed.

why are we suddenly dumping on now news!

I am staying out until October, September has too much bad history of being a bad month, if I miss out on some gains so be it.

maybe I'll only slide a little in...

This sounds like somebody in the supply chain is getting/giving kickbacks and so they intentionally oversupply stores even though they know the stores don't need the product.
Sounds like DG is having its coffers looted by vendors.

I dunno man, if we are headed into a recession dollar stores and bargain centers seem to do very well.

Yeah, I welded for 7 years before I went back to school and finished my bachelors.

They don't if they raise their prices too much, don't give cash back, and are impossible to checkout from.

I've been in bonds for the past 2 years

When will the stock market correction happen ffs, I'm not going to buy companies that are valued st 50 times earnings

This market sucks, there is no money to be made, that's why everyone is in bonds collecting interest instead

You have to subtract at some point, or you're just pretending you got those options for free. If you treat a total loss as 0, then any upside whatsoever is going to give you a positive EV. It isn't "included in the probable loss" if you just mark it down as a zero. Look, I've shown you a few different ways to run the numbers, I've shown that they come out the same with different methods, and I've shown that you're ending negative every time. Give me a few lines of your math and I'll show you where you're going wrong, but I'm more certain than ever that you are.

And honestly, I think I've been meeting you more than halfway. It's not an ego thing or a matter of opinion: this should be a very straightforward calculation, and I'd rather we both end up with the right understanding of it.

But if you're dug in on this, we can drop it. It's not my money, after all. Screencap me and post your returns from this strategy in a few weeks.

True but some of those things are very location specific and not necessarily a flaw of the company as a whole. The underlying financials of DG are actually pretty rock solid. The last time it’s stock price was at this level DG’s earnings per share was close to $2 LESS than what it is now. I think current price levels are great.

How are my little wolves of Wallstreet doing?

Surely, you are genuine traders that know how to make money both when everything is going up, but also when things are rough....

guys how do i send my crypto money to interactive brokers?
i have quite a bit of money on crypto and i really would like to dump it into the stock market.
i don't care about fees. i'm happy as long as 50% of my money or more gets to my IBKR account.
how do i do this?

I actually rarely ever buy Puts (too scared). Although maybe I should because my Longs get wrecked almost every time

The reason you do not care about fees is because it is not your money you piece of shit!

You got your money by scamming and rug pulling just like every other cryptobro out there.

God i hate cryptobros so much is unreal.

How are my little wolves of Wallstreet doing?

Making money per usual. TMF chads stay winning. I hope stock baggies are ready for a fat dump tomorrow. Oh, don't forget to check the charts during "after hours trading" when Pelosi dumps on you even harder. LMAO.

why did gas prices go up 20c in on day? the price of oil has been going down wtf

Nvidia and Intel stocks will go back up, right guys?

y-yeah

Based lad.
I've got 300K worth of TLT but really not sure why I haven't loaded up on leverage since a .50 bp rate cut is looking probable now.

I think tomorrow's employment numbers will determine that.
